Abstract

This study aims to determine the correlation between listening and speaking skills of
students in D3 Hospitality Study Program. The sample is twenty-eight first semester students
of the D3 hospitality study program for the 2019-2020 academic year. This type of research
is correlation with technical analysis data using Pearson Product Moment. The data were
taken from the final English examination one in the form of listening and speaking. Based on
the test of normality, the p value for each variable is more than 0.05 so that the data is
normally distributed. Based on the calculated data, it is found that the listening score and
speaking score variables have a strong correlation or correlation, indicated by the value of r
= 0.644 and p value = 0.000 less than 0.005. This confirms that there is a relationship
between listening and speaking skills in learning English.
